Executive Leadership
Stephen Trimble, P. Eng.
President and CEO
Stephen Trimble is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Trimble Energy Group. Prior to forming TEG, Stephen was the President of Trimble Engineering Associates. With over 35 years of professional engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, Stephen has a wealth of expertise in the areas of corporate reserve evaluations, reservoir studies, exploration prospect assessments, fair market value determinations, expert testimony, due diligence and oil and gas property management.
Stephen has a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Mark Lackie, B.Comm.
Chief Operating Officer
Mark Lackie is the Chief Operating Officer of Trimble Energy Group. Mark has over 25 years of commercial experience in the energy sector. Prior to forming TEG, Mark held senior management positions at a diverse range of E&P’s, ranging from small private start-ups to large public companies. Mark’s expertise focuses on business development and deal flow with a successful history identifying, negotiating and executing on billions of dollars in acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures. At TEG, Mark leverages his specialized expertise, working with multi-discipline stakeholders, to achieve successful results for TEG clients.
Mark has a B.Comm. from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Canadian Association of Land and Energy Professionals (CALEP) and the Petroleum and Joint Venture Association (PJVA).
Ryan Ferguson Young, B.Comm.
Executive Vice President
Ryan Ferguson Young is the Executive Vice President of Trimble Energy Group, leading the transaction advisory practice. Prior to forming TEG, Ryan was the President of Earth Horse Energy Advisors and the Vice President of Sayer Energy Advisors. Ryan is a mergers, acquisitions and divestitures specialist with over 20 years of experience in the E&P, power and financial sectors. Ryan has completed over 100 divestment mandates and has been involved in over $1.0 billion in transactions. Ryan provides experienced guidance to help clients navigate the A&D marketplace in pursuit of their corporate goals and objectives.
Ryan has a B.Comm. (Finance) from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Petroleum Acquisition and Divestment Association (PADA).
Senior Management
Gerry Patychuk, P. Eng.
Senior Vice President, Engineering
Gerry Patychuk is a Senior Vice President at Trimble Energy Group. Prior to TEG, Gerry has over 40 years of oil and gas industry experience, including 12 years as a Senior Engineer at Trimble Engineering Associates. Gerry’s technical specializations include corporate and property evaluations, acquisitions and divestitures, exploration prospect generation, drilling operations, completions, facility construction, production processing and marketing, production operations and optimization, property management, and financial accounting. Gerry’s primary responsibilities at TEG include corporate reserve evaluations, financing due diligence, new opportunity evaluations, oil and gas property management, and strategic corporate advisory functions.
Gerry has a B.SC. in Petroleum Engineering (Honours) from Montana Technological University and is a member with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
Ralph Sanford, P.L. (Eng.)
Senior Vice President, Engineering
Ralph Sanford is a Senior Vice President at Trimble Energy Group. Prior to TEG, Ralph was Vice President of Trimble Engineering Associates. Ralph has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas sector that includes time working with large E&P companies in production and exploitation roles. Ralph has expertise in reservoir and exploitation engineering, reserve determinations and audits, resource and unconventional reserve appraisal, economic and risk analysis, fair market valuations and expert witness testimony.
Ralph has a Diploma in Natural Gas & Petroleum Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a Certificate of Professional Management – P.E.G.G. from the University of Calgary. He is also a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET), and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Earl Scott, P. Eng.
Senior Vice President, Asset and Operations Management
Earl Scott leads the Asset and Operations Management division as Senior Vice President at Trimble Energy Group. Earl is a results oriented executive manager and an E&P operations delivery specialist. He has extensive knowledge of well engineering and production operations, project management, business development and joint ventures developed through 30 years of experience and training within a diverse range of companies, countries and cultures including Asia, South America and Europe. Earl has a proven track record of generating significant capital savings and continuous improvement in team performance, operational integrity and safety performance. His past roles include senior and executive leadership roles with domestic and multinational organizations.
Earl has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a member with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
